The blogosphere, the Twittersphere, the Facebook sphere and all the other spheres exploded when Kanye West grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift at the Video Music Awards.

The cyber solar system exploded with a raft of insults, parodies and deviant spellings.

I’mma Let You Finish, a Tumblr site at http://kanyegate.tumblr.com/ , was overrun with doctored photos, spoofs and parodies:

One parody: “Yo, Taylor, Ima let you finish, but I just gotta say that ‘VMA Award’ is redundant because the ‘A’ in VMA stands for ‘Award’ so when you say ‘VMA award’ it’s like you’re saying ‘Video Music Award Award’ Whatevs, I’m a grammar thug.”

So, on the I’mma site it’s also Ima? Where aren’t there spelling thugs, too? Or quotation thugs?

Look around, you can also find Imma and even I mma.

Bothered by all the slack spelling in the Kanyesphere, I turned to mainstream media, which I expect to have a higher quotation quotient. Here’s what I found:

GONNA LET YOU: AP story as published in the New York Times: “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”

I’LL LET YOU: Wall Street Journal blog Speakeasy: “Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

WILL LET YOU: The Chicago Sun-Times: “Taylor, I’m really happy for you and will let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”

YO: Rachel Simmons on the Huffington Post: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish,” he told Swift, “but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time!”

I’M A LET YOU: Washington Post TV columnist Lisa de Moraes: “Taylor, I’m really happy for you; I’m a let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time”

TWO-APOSTROPHE VERSION: CBC News: “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m'a let you finish,” he blasted, “but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!”

I’mma got a big headache.
